An Apple For Teacher

Posted on by Elizabeth Shaw

Another school year is almost over! It's the time when parents might start thinking about giving a special thank you gift to their child's favourite teacher. To help celebrate the wonderful teachers out there, we're giving away a special kind of Apple.

You could win not one, but two 16GB iPad Mini's worth £200 each.

So that's an Apple for teach and one for you too! Read on for more details of how to win.

Where does the tradition for giving an apple to your teacher come from? In the early 19th century, remote American towns would often house and feed their school teacher. This meant that students often brought in food such as apples for their teacher.

There have also been records of students in Denmark and Sweden bringing apples and even potatoes as a way to say thank you!

Thank goodness the potato-giving didn't stick!

I think I know which Apple we prefer!
So that's an Apple for teacher and one for you too!

Coming up with a creative way to say a special thank you to your child's favourite teacher can be a challenge!

Why not involve your children and get them to decorate a beautiful bookmark or let them get their hands messy in the baking bowl with an apple themed cake?

Alternatively, nominate them to receive a beautifully wrapped box of Elizabeth Shaw Chocolates with a hand-written note thanking them for their brilliant work?
