Christmas, chocolate-coated

Posted on by Elizabeth Shaw

If you're anything like me, you'll appreciate that the best part of Christmas is the build-up. The gifts, the outfits, the decorations, the resplendent table - and then, of course, there's the chocolate. I admit, it's infinitely more satisfying to give than to receive. But if there's a little left over, I shan't complain!

Here's a little chocolate-tipped inspiration to make this year your best ever.

Stocking fillers

What do you get the father-in-law who has everything? The sister with great taste? The neighbour who's been ever so kind? I'd suggest refined flavours and quality cocoa. For the purist, there's the 85% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar. Foodies might enjoy the combination of Blackberry & Ginger, or Pear & Almond. For everyone else, a box of Assorted Crisp chocolates with butterscotch and cocoa crunch notes will keep family members, young and old, smiling.

At Christmas, there's simply no such thing as too much chocolate
If there's a little left over, I shan't complain!

For the festive table

These Chocolate Crisp-filled Crackers make a welcome change from miniature packs of cards and impossible plastic puzzles. Each cracker contains two crisps - either Butterscotch, Caramel, Honeycomb or Dark Chocolate with cocoa nibs. The flavours are the real 'pull'.

The night before Christmas

If you're planning on filling your home with the rich, spicy scent of mulled win this Christmas Eve, these Christmas Edition Dark Chocolate Gingerbread Crisps should complement your glass nicely. Warm gingerbread and crunchy honeycomb melts in the mouth and marks the beginning of delicious things to come.

A Happy Hogmanay

Start the party early. The Elizabeth Shaw Famous Names liqueurs capture the finest of your favourite tipples - think Cointreau, Irish Cream, Cognac, whisky and more - in a crisp chocolate shell. Hear the crack, taste the trickle and toast to a brand new year.

The grace-saving backup

If you're a seasoned hostess, you'll no doubt have experienced the horror of welcoming guests laden with gifts.... yet have nothing to treat them with in return. Never again. This year, I'll make sure I'm prepared with a box of our Crisp Collection, some elegant, delicate Chocolate Flutes, or a Mint Crisp Gift Bag. "How thoughtful!" they'll coo, and they'll be right.

Finally, I'm definitely looking forward to whipping up some homemade Christmas delights with which to dazzle my dinner guests. Visit the recipe section for all kinds of impressive ideas.

Joyeux Noel!
